Welcome to Grade 6!

Rooted in Love!

Each week, students are expected to learn their Bible Memory verses and recite it to their parents and teacher. Students should also be familiar with the meaning of the passage and be able to explain it and how it applies to their lives. It’s so important for us to have scripture in our heart and mind, so this is a wonderful way for our children to talk about scripture and to hold it in their hearts.

At school, we will often recite the verses together and talk about it daily. We ask that you would talk with your child about our verses too.

Week 1-3:

“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another,
for love comes from God.
Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.
But, anyone who does not love does not know God,
for God is love.”

Week 4&5:

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
it keeps so record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Week 6

Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them.
Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.
